Stephen Gibson studied Timpani & Percussion at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. His performing work is principally focused on contemporary repertoire from chamber opera to symphonic, musicals to contemporary dance. He is interested in combining traditional and electronic percussion in live performance. Recent projects have included collaborations with Walker Dance Park Music, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and composers Joby Talbot and Derek Shiel. Stephen has toured Europe, Africa and Asia as Musical Director for Tap Dogs and as band member for Matthew Bourne productions including The Car Man and Edward Scissorhands. He plays jazz timpani and vibraphone in Jerry Dammersí new band the Spatial A.K.A Orchestra.
