A magical retelling of Nikolai Gogol’s famous story 'The Night Before Christmas', interwoven with a ravishing selection of Russian and Ukranian music and song. This uproarious tale tells of the blacksmith Vakula’s battle with the devil, who has stolen the moon and hidden it in his pocket… The performance includes brilliant new arrangements of music by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky Korsakov, Rachmaninov, Arensky, Glazunov and Borodin as well as a selection of Ukranian Folk tunes.
